Feeling Overwhelmed? Bible Verses That Will Lift You Up

I don’t know about you, but sometimes life hits all at once.

The laundry piles up. The to-do list multiplies. The emotions get louder. And before you know it, you feel like you’re drowning in the swirl of expectations—some from others, but mostly the ones we put on ourselves.

If you’re in that place today, I want you to know:

You are not alone. You are not weak. And you are not failing.

You’re human. And more importantly—you are loved by a God who sees you, holds you, and carries what you can’t.

When I’m overwhelmed, I turn to these scriptures like lifelines. I hope they meet you right where you are today.

Bible Verses for When You Feel Overwhelmed:

1. Psalm 61:2
“From the end of the earth I call to you when my heart is faint. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.”

When everything feels shaky, He is your steady place.

2. Isaiah 43:2
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you.”
You will pass through this. And you are not passing through alone.

overwhelm Bible verse Scripture for

3. Matthew 11:28
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
His rest doesn’t require you to get it all together first. Just come.

4. 2 Corinthians 12:9
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
You don’t have to be strong enough. His strength fills in every gap.

5. Exodus 14:14
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”
Sometimes the most courageous thing you can do is stop striving.

Let these words breathe life back into your tired soul.
Take a deep breath. Let your shoulders drop. And whisper a prayer—even if it’s just, “Help.”

God is near. Even here. Especially here.
